Oyana Mbogo Otu Tawaye (OMOT)

Oyana MOT is a 12-month development program serving 25 individuals across Nigeria who are seeking to advance their education and careers. Through two-hour biweekly Sunday Zoom sessions, participants engage with expert guest speakers, receive personalized resources, and work collaboratively toward their individual goals. The program's distinctive feature is its adaptive curriculum, which evolves based on ongoing needs assessments and participant feedback. This dynamic approach ensures that each member receives relevant support while building a documented methodology that can be replicated for future cohorts. The program bridges the gap between aspirations and achievements by providing structured mentorship, practical skills training, and a supportive community network.

Oyana MOT is a 12-month development program designed to bridge the gap between aspirations and achievements for individuals across Nigeria. Through structured mentorship, practical skills training, and a supportive community network, we support participants to advance their education and career goals.

Eligibility Requirements


To participate in Oyana MOT, you must:

  1. Be a citizen and resident of Nigeria
  2. Have access to a device (smartphone or laptop)
  3. Have reliable internet access for biweekly Sunday sessions
  4. Commit to attending all scheduled meetings in a quiet environment
  5. Complete all registration forms and consent documents

Program Overview: The Oyana Imọ́ Scholars Program, part of the nonprofit ABA World, supports high-achieving Nigerian students accepted into universities worldwide. Though newly established, we already have scholars studying in China and the United States, demonstrating our global commitment. We connect these talented individuals with the resources, mentorship, and community support needed for success in their international academic pursuits across all fields of study.

While the Oyana Imọ́ Scholars Program doesn't provide direct financial assistance, we serve as a crucial bridge connecting our scholars with established scholarships, grants, and educational funding opportunities worldwide. Our extensive network of educational partners, mentors, and alumni helps scholars navigate the complex landscape of international academic funding.

Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for the Oyana Imọ́ Scholars Program, applicants must:

  • Be a Nigerian citizen
  • Have achieved outstanding academic performance (minimum GPA of 3.5/4.0 or equivalent)
  • Be accepted into a recognized university outside of Nigeria
  • Demonstrate financial need
  • Show leadership potential and community involvement
  • Commit to participating in mentorship and community activities
  • Meet language proficiency requirements for their chosen university
  • We welcome applicants from all academic disciplines and all regions of Nigeria.

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. We recommend applying at least 3 months before your planned start date to allow sufficient time for processing.
