Our mission at ABA World is to provide education, healthcare, and social services to underserved communities around the world.
ABA World was founded in 2005 and has been providing services to communities in need ever since.
Spark a Spectrum of Possibilities is a historic global event taking place on April 2, 2026 (World Autism Awareness Day) across 50+ screening centers in Nigeria, Kenya, Zambia, Rwanda, the Philippines, and other countries around the world. We're bringing together healthcare professionals, educators, university students, and families to provide free autism screenings for children who otherwise wouldn't have access. But this isn't just about screenings, it's a celebration of autism and neurodiversity, with games, activities, food, prizes, and a global livestream led by autistic individuals. We're creating the largest multi-continental autism awareness event, connecting communities worldwide.
Our mission is to provide free, accessible autism screenings and resources to families in underserved communities worldwide, while celebrating neurodiversity and building a global movement for autism awareness and acceptance. We believe early diagnosis changes everything for children with autism, when families can access screening and intervention early, children have better outcomes. However, in many parts of the world, families don't have access to professionals who can help. Through Spark a Spectrum, mobilizing volunteers, professionals, and communities to bring screenings directly to families, while simultaneously celebrating autism. We aim to screen 20,000+ children on April 2, 2026, and establish a new annual tradition for global autism awareness.
April 2 is World Autism Awareness Day, recognized by the United Nations since 2007. We chose this date to align with the global autism community and amplify the message of awareness, acceptance, and support. By hosting our event on this day, we join a worldwide movement while creating something unique, a multi-continental screening and celebration event that brings the autism community together in real time. The 2026 date gives us six months to prepare (from October 2025), recruit screening centers, raise funds, train volunteers, and build awareness. It's ambitious but achievable, and it positions us to make April 2 a permanent tradition for years to come.
Spark a Spectrum was founded by Loukia Tsami, through ABA World, an organization providing autism support and applied behavior analysis (ABA) services to families worldwide. We recognize the massive gap in autism screening access in countries located in the global south. This initiative is powered entirely by volunteers who believe in the mission and want to make a difference.
Our immediate focus is making April 2, 2026 a success, however, our vision is to make this an annual tradition. Once we secure ongoing funding, we plan to repeat Spark a Spectrum every April 2 with even more screening centers, more countries, and more families served. That's why volunteer performance is being tracked, we want to identify top performers who could transition into paid positions when the event becomes annual. Think of 2026 as Year 1 of building something permanent. We're not hosting an event; we're launching a movement.
