publishedclaimed, with the date they gavesuggested, a starting pointnobody yetA name in brackets is pencilled in, waiting to be confirmed
Hausa (Nigeria), Igbo, Yoruba and Spanish have several presenters each, so the names in those rows simply take turns. Read them as a starting point rather than an agreement. Each team is free to swap dates between themselves.
A soft name is our suggestion. A name in bold with a date beside it is a square somebody claimed, and that date is theirs.

WATCH THIS FIRST

Loukia walks through the whole thing in a few minutes: how to pick a video, what to send, and what happens after. Everything below is on this page too, so watch it once and come back here when you need a link.

Watch How It Works

How we share the videos

  1. You choose your video. Post in the group which one you want and the date you will finish it.
  2. Your name and your date go on the schedule, so everyone can see who is working on what.
  3. One person records one video. Two people never record the same one.
  4. When your date passes and the video has not arrived, we wait four days. Then the video opens for someone else.
  5. Life gets busy, and that is fine. Send one message before your date and we will find a solution together.
  6. Send the plain video. Leave out subtitles, music and editing. We do that part.
  7. Change the words if the translation sounds wrong. You are the expert in your language.
  8. Ask your questions in the group. The same question reaches me many times in private, and one answer in the group reaches everyone at once. Write to me directly for anything personal.

Instructions for volunteers

  1. Join the WhatsApp group (join it here).
  2. Read the eight rules above.
  3. Send Loukia your bio, your photo, your email, and how you say “free autism support for parents” in your language (once).
  4. Post in the WhatsApp group which video you want and the date you will finish it.
  5. Open the scripts folder (open it here), go to that video’s folder, and choose your language. Work from the English if your language has no draft.
  6. Put it into your language. Write it out if you write your language, or work from the English and say it in your own words. Then read it out loud and record on your phone. Phone sideways, light on your face, quiet room.
  7. Send Loukia the video, and the written words if you write in your language. By email to loukia@abaworld.org, or on WhatsApp as a Document rather than as a video.

THE GROUP

Everything is arranged here: which video you are taking, the date you will finish, and any question you have. Loukia lets people in, so there may be a short wait after you tap it.

ABOUT YOU

What do you do, and where do you live?

Which version of your language do you speak? Hausa in Nigeria and Hausa in Ghana are different, and we say which one on the video.

How do you say “free autism support for parents” in your language? This goes on your picture and on your playlist.

If you want, why does autism matter to you? Yours to share or to keep.

A photo: your face and shoulders, looking at the camera. A phone photo is fine.

WHAT HAPPENS THEN

Your video goes up with your name and your photo, and your three sentences go on abaworld.org. Two or three people share each language, so nobody carries one alone.

THE SCRIPTS

Every script we write lands in one folder, newest at the top. The topic of each video is written at the head of its own script.

This link never changes, so keep it. Everything you need will always be here.
